As of today, September 13, 2025, we are looking forward to another week of sunny weather with temperatures in the mid-20 range in our lovely region just north of North America’s most northerly major city!
But I know, I know – you’re not here to dilly-dally reading a fluffy intro, you’re looking for something to do, right now, today … here are three ideas for you:
1. Trek through Boisverts Greenwoods

They say that time in the forest is a balm for your mental health – an hour or two at Boisvert’s GreenWoods will soothe your soul.
The loop trail here is flat but totally forested and a bit rustic (so bumpy). For the 40 minutes or so it takes you to walk the whole thing, you are enveloped in nature.
One of the craziest experiences on this trail is approaching the pond – the frog song is almost deafening until you cross a certain threshold and then … instant and complete silence. So cool.
2. Hit the splash park, go for ice cream

September 13/14 is the last weekend for the Morinville Splash Park, located the Ray McDonald Sports Centre grounds where you can also play basketball, outdoor volleyball, or just soak up the sun in a grassy field.
Drop by Sal’s Famous first (almost right in front) to check out their extensive milkshake menu or continue on to the Ice Hut (with Sturgeon Brewing across the street, where kids can bring their ice cream and sit outside).
3. Pick apples and fall veggies at Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm

Nothing says fall like apples and pumpkins and that’s what you’ll find at Prairie Gardens & Adventure Farm – along with other fall veggies to stock your cupboards with.
If picking your own veggies isn’t your idea of a good time, you can always hit 2BK Vegetable Farm and browse all the goodies in their farm store.
